Shaun White, an American snowboarder, has announced his retirement from the sport.
White announced his retirement from the sport just before a competition at a press conference in Beijing, China. It was an incredible performance by the 35-year-old snowboarder, who is the oldest competitor in the competition.
From the 2018 PyeongChang Games, the 2010 Vancouver Games, and 2006 Turin, White earned three gold medals. On top of that, he finished fourth at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi before crashing and burning at the 2022 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang when attempting a difficult technique on the slopes. The global record for most X-Games gold medals and the most Olympic gold medals won by a snowboarder still stands, despite the fact that he didn’t place in his most recent competition.
His relationship with Nina Dobrev will mark the beginning of a new chapter in Shaun White’s life.

During his most recent Olympic competition, Shaun White credited the former “The Vampire Diaries” actress with keeping him motivated.
She’s been a great source of encouragement and love, he added. Every step of the way she has been there for me: from the moment we met, through training, to the moment I received a phone call from her, she has been there to cheer me up.
As soon as the Olympics are over, he’s looking forward to the “next chapter” in his life.
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen her or my family, and I can’t wait to begin this new chapter in my life,” he said.
